Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What makes your chocolate 'clean label' and how is it different from supermarket chocolate?

Answer: Our artisanal chocolates are made with minimal, recognisable ingredients typically cacao, a natural sweetener, and no artificial emulsifiers, flavourings, or preservatives. Supermarket chocolate often contains additives like PGPR or vanillin. Clean label means you can read and understand every ingredient on the pack. Our dark chocolate ranges are crafted in small batches, using single-origin cacao where possible, giving you a richer, more complex flavour alongside genuine nutritional benefits.

Q2: What percentage of cocoa is in your dark chocolate, and why does it matter?

Answer: Our dark chocolates typically range from 62% to 90% cacao. A higher cacao percentage means less added sugar and more of the naturally occurring compounds found in cocoa including flavanols, magnesium, and iron. In the UK, most standard milk chocolates contain as little as 25% cacao. If you're looking for a genuinely nutritious indulgence, choosing 60%+ dark chocolate is a great starting point. We'll always list the exact percentage clearly on our packaging.

Q3: What is jaggery and is it actually healthier than refined sugar?

Answer: Jaggery is an unrefined, traditional sweetener made by concentrating sugarcane juice or palm sap without chemical processing. Unlike white sugar, it retains trace minerals such as iron, magnesium, and potassium, along with small amounts of antioxidants. While it is still a sweetener and should be consumed in moderation, jaggery has a lower glycaemic processing footprint than refined sugar and carries a rich, caramel like depth of flavour. In our snacks, we use it as a cleaner alternative to give natural sweetness without the empty calories of refined sugar.

Q4: Why are millet-based snacks good for me, and are they suitable for gluten-free diets?

Answer: Millet is an ancient grain that is naturally gluten-free, making it an excellent choice for those with coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity. It is a good source of dietary fibre, B vitamins, and minerals like magnesium and phosphorus. Millet-based snacks tend to be lighter on the digestive system than wheat-based alternatives, with a satisfying crunch and a mild, nutty flavour. All our millet snacks are produced in facilities with strict allergen controls please check individual product pages for full allergen information.

Q5: How much protein do your high-protein snacks contain per serving, and are they suitable for vegetarians?

Answer: Our high-protein snacks typically deliver between 8g and 15g of protein per serving, depending on the product. Protein sources vary by range we use ingredients such as roasted chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, pea protein, and lentils to create plant-forward options that are fully vegetarian and many are vegan. High-protein snacking is one of the fastest-growing trends in the UK right now, with nearly half of British adults actively seeking protein-rich, on-the-go options. We make sure our protein claims come from whole-food ingredients rather than synthetic isolates wherever possible.

Q6: Can your high-protein snacks help with weight management or post-workout recovery?

Answer: Protein plays a key role in satiety helping you feel fuller for longer which can support healthy weight management as part of a balanced diet. For post-workout recovery, protein helps repair and build muscle tissue. Our snacks are designed to be a convenient, nutritious bridge between meals or after exercise. However, they are snacks, not meal replacements. We always recommend pairing them with a varied, balanced diet. If you have specific fitness or dietary goals, a registered nutritionist or dietitian can offer personalised guidance.

Q7: Why is dietary fibre important, and which of your snacks are highest in fibre?

Answer: The NHS recommends adults in the UK consume 30g of fibre per day, yet most people average only around 20g. Fibre supports healthy digestion, helps maintain stable blood sugar levels, and is associated with reduced risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Our highest-fibre snacks include millet puffs, roasted pulses, and seed mixes many delivering 4g or more of fibre per serving. Look for the 'High Fibre' label on our product pages, which means the product meets UK food standards for that claim (at least 6g per 100g).

Q8: Are your snacks free from ultra-processed ingredients (UPFs)?

Answer : Yes avoiding ultra-processed foods is a priority for us. Research shows that 71% of UK adults are actively trying to reduce UPFs in their diet. Our snacks are made with whole or minimally processed ingredients, and we avoid synthetic emulsifiers, artificial flavours, colours, and preservatives. A useful rule of thumb: if you can picture every ingredient growing or existing in nature, the product is on the right track. We publish full ingredient lists on every product page so you can make your own informed choice.

Q9: What savoury healthy snack options do you offer that are lower in salt than standard crisps?

Answer: Savoury snacks are preferred by 63% of UK snackers, and we know flavour cannot be compromised. Our savoury range including roasted foxnut (Makhana), spiced Quinoa crisps, and some millet based Cookies uses natural herbs and spices to deliver bold flavour with significantly less sodium than standard crisps, which can contain up to 1g of salt per serving. We aim to keep our savoury snacks under 0.3g of salt per serving where possible, and this is always shown clearly on our nutrition panel.

Q10: Do you offer any snacks that are suitable for children in UK school lunchboxes?

Answer: Many of our products are suitable for both children and adults and are made with a focus on simple, high-quality ingredients. We are proud to offer a wide range of products that are vegetarian-friendly, with many of them also being vegan.

However, we do not claim that our products are nut-free or allergen-free. Due to the nature of our ingredients and shared manufacturing facilities, products may contain allergens or be subject to cross-contamination, including nuts and other allergens. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that any product is 100% free from nuts or other allergens.

We strongly recommend that parents and carers carefully review the ingredient list and allergen information provided on each product before including them in school lunchboxes or offering them to individuals with food allergies or sensitivities.
